Our dedicated staff members undergo continuous professional development, staying up to date with the latest advancements in early childhood education. In addition, all staff receive mandatory training in First Aid, Child CPR, recognition of childhood communicable diseases, and child abuse awareness to ensure the highest standards of care and safety.

Infant Teacher

Miss Jessica Rolland

Miss Jessica brings over 12 years of experience in infant and toddler care to our center, along with a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential focused specifically on this age group. Her calm presence, attentiveness, and nurturing spirit help our littlest learners feel safe, loved, and secure. Miss Jessica understands that the first year of life is foundational, and she takes pride in building strong bonds with each child while supporting their early developmental milestones.

Infant Teacher

Miss Theresa Howard

With an impressive 38 years of experience in early childhood education, Miss Theresa is a pillar of wisdom and care in our infant program. She holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential specializing in infants and toddlers and has devoted her career to nurturing the growth and development of our youngest learners. Miss Theresa’s calm, loving presence provides comfort and consistency, and her decades of experience ensure that each baby in her care receives the highest level of attention, support, and affection.

Toddler Teacher

Miss Destinee Novotny

Miss Destinee has been working in early childhood education for 6 years and holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in infants and toddlers. She brings enthusiasm, patience, and a deep understanding of toddler development to her classroom each day. Miss Destinee creates a fun and structured environment where toddlers are encouraged to explore, express themselves, and grow in independence. Her positive energy and consistent care help little ones build confidence and reach important developmental milestones.

Preschool 1 Teacher

Miss Jessica Peterson

Miss Jessica has been working in early childhood education for 4 years and holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in preschool education. She brings creativity, patience, and a love for learning into the Preschool 1 classroom each day. Miss Jessica is passionate about helping children build strong foundations in social skills, early literacy, and independence through hands-on, play-based learning. Her caring and consistent approach helps each child feel valued, safe, and ready to grow.

Preschool 2 Teacher

Miss Sarah Simmons

Miss Sarah has 4 years of experience in early childhood education and holds a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential in preschool education. She brings enthusiasm, creativity, and a nurturing heart to her Preschool 2 classroom. Miss Sarah is committed to helping children grow socially, emotionally, and academically through engaging activities and structured routines. Her goal is to create a classroom where every child feels confident, capable, and excited to learn each day.

Pre-Kindergarten Teacher

Miss Molly Forkin

Miss Molly has been a dedicated part of our child care center for over 15 years, bringing consistency, expertise, and a deep love for early learning to our Pre-K classroom. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education and uses her extensive knowledge to prepare children for a successful transition to kindergarten. Known for her nurturing approach and creative lessons, Miss Molly fosters independence, confidence, and a joy for learning in every student she teaches.

School Age Teacher

Miss Jenna Colburn

With over 12 years of experience in education and a Bachelor's Degree in Education, Miss Jenna brings both expertise and enthusiasm to her role as our School Age Teacher. She is passionate about supporting children's growth beyond the preschool years, offering engaging activities that reinforce academic skills, foster creativity, and build strong character. Miss Jenna creates a positive, respectful environment where school-age students feel empowered, encouraged, and excited to learn and lead.

Owner & Administrator

Jill Colburn

Jill Colburn is the proud owner and administrator of Bright Beginnings Learning Center, a position she has held since 2016. With over 30 years of experience in the childcare field and more than 20 years as an administrator, Jill brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep passion for early childhood education to her work. She holds a degree in Early Childhood Education and finds joy in watching the children at Bright Beginnings grow from their first steps in the infant room to their school-age years. Jill is dedicated to providing a warm, caring, and clean environment that adheres to both state and Step Up to Quality guidelines. She values the strong partnerships formed with families, recognizing the importance of being a trusted part of each child’s educational and developmental journey.

Step Up to Quality is Ohio’s comprehensive rating and improvement

system for childcare and early education programs, overseen by the

Ohio Department of Child and Youth Services. This initiative evaluates

centers on a variety of criteria—such as staff training, classroom environment, curriculum, and family engagement—to ensure that children receive the highest level of care and education. Programs that exceed Ohio’s basic licensing standards are awarded a star rating, signifying their commitment to excellence.
